Annual TakePART Art Festival: a collaborative effort by initiative partners.
The festival features a plethora of activities: student art exhibits, theater performances, costume gatherings and photo-shoots along with hands-on art activities. The event draws 1,500 attendees per year, bringing together students across school districts, families and community members from around the South Bay of Los Angeles.
The TakePART Art Festival is an annual May event collaboratively hosted by the initiative partners to celebrate arts education in public schools. The free family-friendly event features creative work by students across school districts from the South Bay, including performances on two stages – dance, band, solo vocalists and step, a youth artwork gallery with sculpture, drawings, paintings and multi-media work, and hands-on arts activity booths hosted by local organizations. This year’s festival also included a costume photo booth, painting on canvas, watercolor fish art, facilitated drumming and dancing, arts supplies raffles, free food and a special instructional performance by The Music Center.
If you would like to volunteer or host a booth with a free art activity for kids, please submit an inquiry on the contact page.
